Several subjects are studied in depth and students can make their preferred choices from a range of subjects. Students will generally choose 3 A-level subjects that correspond with university entry requirements for their prospective career path. In each subject, official external exams are taken at the end of each year of 6th Form (AS at the end of Year 12; A2 at the end of Year 13).  Each set of exams is of equal value and is added together to achieve a full A level. Each student\u00b4s university prospects relies on the A level results. Here we explain how A levels are accepted in different countries. The basic university entry requirement in Spain, for example, is two or more A level subject passes. Up to 4 AS and A-Levels are validated. Different universities (and different countries) have different criteria. <br \/>Students will normally choose 3-4 subjects the first year and continue with 2-3 of their subjects the second year. The application process is via UCAS (Universities and Colleges Admission Service).
