Welcome to AIS International School! When you walk into the gate of our school you will read that our educational model is based on the premise that “children and teens can be authentic” here. What that means in essence is that we offer an integrated curriculum that meets the developmental needs of our students and that we profoundly care about each individual.

As the founder of the school, it fills me with great pride and joy to see the lively school community filling our buildings every day, just 13 years after we first opened our doors to a group of Class 6 children. These first alumni graduated in 2019 and since then others have followed. They are working in diverse professions in many different countries around the world.

The successes of the school align with the ideals for the future, as AIS remains true to the original vision when we first started in 2012; ensuring that equal emphasis is placed on the pursuit of academic excellence, artistic expression and socio-emotional development, personalised learning through small class sizes, and pastoral care that focuses on the needs of the individual student. Naturally this would not be possible without the dedication of our committed and experienced teachers who do so much to support student learning. HEADTEACHER WELCOME Our current site which we acquired in 2016 is in a stunning location and an area of outstanding natural beauty; the historic buildings have been renovated and developed to continue improving our provisions. Without losing the personal and familiar feel which characterises our school, we have been able to expand to fill 22 classrooms in 7 buildings with our 270 students that are currently on role.

One of the special qualities of an international school like ours is that student intake is extremely varied and the many nationalities enrolled at AIS gives it a truly multicultural feel. This encourages values such as respect and tolerance. Also, the opportunity to practise mindfulness furthers the development of empathy, kindness and social responsibility.

I trust that if you are an existing parent, your views and opinions of AIS are positive and aligned with what we do, and I thank you for your continued support. Cuando entres por la puerta de nuestro colegio leerás que nuestro modelo educativo se basa en la premisa de que aquí «los niños y los adolescentes pueden ser auténticos». Lo que eso significa en esencia es que ofrecemos un plan de estudios integrado que satisface las necesidades de desarrollo de nuestros alumnos y que nos preocupamos profundamente por cada individuo.

Como fundador de la escuela, me llena de gran orgullo y alegría ver la animada comunidad escolar que llena nuestros edificios todos los días, solo 13 años después de que abrimos nuestras puertas por primera vez a un grupo de niños de la Clase 6. Estos primeros antiguos alumnos se graduaron en 2019 y desde entonces les han seguido otros. Están trabajando en diversas profesiones en muchos países diferentes de todo el mundo.

Los éxitos de la escuela se alinean con los ideales para el futuro, ya que AIS se mantiene fiel a la visión original cuando comenzamos en 2012; asegurando que se ponga el mismo énfasis en la búsqueda de la excelencia académica, la expresión artística y el desarrollo socioemocional, el aprendizaje personalizado a través de clases pequeñas y el cuidado pastoral que se centra en las necesidades del estudiante individual. Naturalmente, esto no sería posible sin la dedicación de nuestros comprometidos y experimentados profesores, que tanto hacen por apoyar el aprendizaje de los alumnos. BIENVENIDA DE LA DIRECTORA Nuestra sede actual, que adquirimos en 2016, se encuentra en un lugar impresionante y en una zona de gran belleza natural; los edificios históricos han sido renovados y desarrollados para seguir mejorando nuestras instalaciones. Sin perder la sensación personal y familiar que caracteriza a nuestra escuela, hemos sido capaces de ampliar para llenar 22 aulas en 7 edificios con nuestros 270 estudiantes que están actualmente en papel.

Una de las cualidades especiales de un colegio internacional como el nuestro es que la admisión de alumnos es extremadamente variada y las numerosas nacionalidades matriculadas en el AIS le confieren un verdadero aire multicultural. Esto fomenta valores como el respeto y la tolerancia. Además, la oportunidad de practicar mindfulness fomenta el desarrollo de la empatía, la amabilidad y la responsabilidad social.

All the buildings have been sympathetically restored to make the most of their situation. Including the protected Almazara (olive press) natural materials such as stone and wood have been used throughout, immersing them in their natural setting.
