Graham Waterhouse at AIS We are delighted to have the highly respected British Composer and cellist Graham Waterhouse back at AIS. This time, he will be offering a composition workshop and he will be speaking as a special guest at our School Assembly next week.

The composition workshop will take place during school hours next week in three 45-minute sessions (still to be fixed) and will possibly include one after school session as well. This workshop is open to any musically interested student with basic knowledge of music notation, and more importantly, with curiosity and interest to explore music composition with a highly experienced and inspiring professional composer and musician.

During Graham's stay we will be preparing a special Chamber Music concert to celebrate our 10th Anniversary featuring Graham's compositions and a Trio by F. Mendelssohn for piano, violin and cello to be performed in December in the AIS Hall.

Introducing Our New Class 1 At AIS, we make an effort to observe significant moments in childhood and to celebrate these with rituals that have meaning for children. Leaving kindergarten and entering first grade is one of these special moment we prepare with loving care. The ceremony started with the first-grade teacher telling her new students and families a story. After the story, when every first-grade child heard their name,  they went to their teacher, carrying a flower in their hands. A special melody played by Anja`s violin accompanied the moving moment. The new first graders then put their flowers into a waiting vase. By the end of the class’s procession into the front, there was a whole bouquet of wildflowers that adorned the hall for the rest of the event  Our new class 1 is now ready to start this new journey into school life. Our warmest welcome to them!
